OROS continues to invest in practical innovation that helps users move faster from measurement to decision. With NVGate V18, the focus is clear: remove workflow bottlenecks, extend analysis reach in demanding transient conditions, simplify setup, and reward loyal customers with immediate new value. NVGate V18 is now available. This new update of the OROS signal analysis platform delivers smarter workflow flexibility, broader synchronous order analysis coverage, easier sensor configuration, and upgrade benefits designed to make every NVGate investment go further.

This release note describes the content of the version, with operating details.

Compatibility: NVGate V18 is compatible with the following OROS instruments: O4 - OR35 TW - OR36 TW - OR38 TW. Depending on the hardware options and version, some instrument features may or may not be available.

Icon 2NVGate.png Dual NVGate instances: parallel workflow on one PC

NVGate V18 now allows users to run Online mode for live recording and real-time analysis and monitoring while running Office mode for post-analysis and reporting on the same PC at the same time, without requiring a second license.

This means users no longer have to choose between acquiring data and learning from it. Until now, many teams had to wait until the end of the test before starting deeper review, or they had to dedicate a second PC and a second NVGate license to keep the workflow moving. NVGate V18 changes that.

With Dual NVGate instances, the test can keep running while analysis, comparison, and reporting already begin. One instance remains focused on secure measurement. The other can be used to inspect previously recorded data, compare runs, apply post-processing, prepare deliverables, and accelerate decision-making while the campaign is still in progress.

The benefit is immediate: faster turnaround, better workstation utilization, and a much smoother path from raw data to actionable insight.

This is especially valuable for long-duration tests such as endurance campaigns, startup and shutdown sequences, or environmental programs. Engineers can begin extracting insight before the measurement is over, reducing dead time and improving responsiveness.

It is equally powerful in production, end-of-line, and acceptance workflows. While the next unit is already being measured, the previous run can be reviewed and turned into a result. Teams gain speed without sacrificing continuity.

OROS makes this workflow especially robust because, in Online mode, acquisition and real-time computation are handled by the analyzer onboard DSPs. Users can therefore push the PC harder for Office-mode post-analysis and reporting without compromising measurement reliability.

After installation, you will see two icons. The first icon   allows you to launch the first NVGate instance and select the desired mode (Online or Office). Simultaneously, you can use the second icon   to start a second NVGate instance, which will operate in Office mode only.


 


Icon SOA.png SOA dynamic speed ratio: broader transient coverage

NVGate V18 extends the dynamic rotational speed range for Synchronous Order Analysis (SOA). The Max/Min speed tracking ratio increases from 64 to 512, allowing the analyzer to keep producing synchronous order results much further into the low-speed end of a run-up, run-down, or spool-down event.


 


In rotating-machine testing, the most revealing behavior often happens during speed changes, not during steady operation. Engineers need one SOA setup that can follow the machine through a broad speed excursion without forcing extra workaround blocks, duplicated setups, or fragmented post-processing.

That is exactly where NVGate V18 delivers. It helps users stay inside one coherent synchronous analysis workflow for longer, even when the machine speed drops dramatically. This improvement is especially relevant for high-variation rotating systems such as turbochargers, turbines, compressors, and e-motors.

The real value is not just the number, but the practical gain: fewer split measurements, fewer workarounds, and a broader transient coverage while maintaining the phase-accurate SOA behavior that users rely on for balancing, torsional analysis, and rotor-dynamic interpretation.

Icon database.png Pre-loaded sensor library: faster setup, fewer mistakes

NVGate V18 now includes a pre-loaded sensor library. The sensor database now contains settings for the most commonly utilized sensors, such as Accelerometers, Microphones, Velocity sensors, Proximity probes, Force sensors (including Hammers), and tachometers. Users can conveniently select their required sensor from a simple dropdown list instead of first creating entries manually.


 


This seemingly simple improvement does have day-to-day impact. It saves time, reduces repetitive entry work, improves consistency across teams, and avoids common mistakes in scaling, sensitivity, and units.

It also makes NVGate easier to demonstrate, easier to deploy, and easier to use for new or occasional users. For distributors, trainers, field engineers, and mixed-skill teams, this means less setup friction and a faster path to a correct first result.

In short, it helps users spend less time configuring and more time measuring with confidence.

Icon bonus.png Loyalty reward upgrades: gain more when you upgrade

NVGate V18 is not only about new software capabilities. It is also about giving existing customers more value from their upgrade.

With this release, customers updating their software or upgrading older hardware receive D-Rec for free. Customers who already have the Diag module also receive TDA for free.

D-Rec brings a more autonomous, rugged, field-oriented recording workflow. It turns the analyzer into a true stand-alone recorder for field use, available from power-on to power-off without a PC or connection. Users can prepare the setup in NVGate, start and control the recording directly from the analyzer LCD and buttons, and recover the signals later for detailed analysis.

This is especially useful for field troubleshooting where carrying a laptop is inconvenient, for unattended or lightly attended recording over long operating windows, for commissioning or service rounds with repeatable preconfigured measurements, and for capture-first workflows where the priority is to secure the right data now and analyze it later.

TDA adds more diagnostic visibility in the time domain. It complements frequency and order analysis with time views and statistical indicators such as Peak, Pk-Pk, Crest Factor, Skew, and Kurtosis. This makes it especially useful for bearings, gearboxes, transmission components, and probe-based gap or position monitoring.

Loyal customers do not just update — they gain new ways to record and diagnose.
