Have hundreds of records to post process at once? It has never been easier using the NVGate add-on tool “BatchPostProcess”.

The batch post-processing tool allows users to automate their post analysis campaigns. Users will be able to calculate a set of results for an entire measurement campaign. In the example below, we carried out 8 run-ups and 8 run-downs for each, then calculated FFTs, RMS values and overall profiles.

NVGate add-on tool “BatchPostProcess”: BatchPostProcess.exe

Configuration

The add-on “BatchPostProcess.exe” needs to be located in NVGate install directory (next to NVGate.exe).
Optional : It is recommended to add a shortcut of this exe file in the “Link” directory (C:\OROS\NVGate data\Links) to have direct access from NVGate in Link Section.

Principle

  • From NVGate, setup your post analysis based on the first record file. Once your configuration is done, run the “BatchPostProcess”.
  • Select from the top left list box the project where the signal files is located to be post processed (can be from any project). Select the signal from middle list box, then “Add” to the list of signal files to be post processed. It is possible to select signal files from several projects.
  • Press “Process All Files” to start the post process according to the current setup in NVGate. All files from top right list box will be post processed.

Results from post analysis are stored in current project, the name of the measurement is based on each signal file name with additional extension “_PA”

  • All signal files to be processed should be similar (number of channels) to the initial record file. If this condition is not valid, the record file may not be post processed.
BatchPostProcess Interface

Option

  • Option: “Apply Input” allows to keep the current input table for “label / Component / Node / Direction”. It’s useful to modify this data for several signal files, either in re-recording or for post analysis.
  • Options “Save Report” allows to generate report from each Post Analysis to Excel. It requires that current post analysis configuration in NVGate is configured with reporting to Excel.
  • Option “Refresh On Stop” should not be activated in NVGate in order to have a report file for each measurement. Report file could be saved in either Excel or PDF format. If the target file for reporting already exists, it is replaced by this new one.
  • Option “Save Log” allows to save a log file from application within NVGate directory.
  • Right click on the application background (grey part) offers 3 options:
    • Enable/Disable function “Set on top”. By default application remains on top of displayed windows.
    • Enlarge “Selection Measurement” display zone in order to display entire name for measurement list.
    • Minimize to minimize the application windows.

Troubelshooting

The batch post process is waiting for "FTT STOP" before loading a new signal. If you are doing only recording, the bypass will be to add one channel into the "FFT plug in" for having the "STOP".

Change log

V2.8 New options : "Apply input" ==> if you change the label, sensitivity (...) of a tack, this will also apply to all the other signal. "Macro BPP" ==> Macro "Batch Post Process". At the end of the batch post process , a "BPP" macro will be run. So rename the macro than you want to use with the name "BPP"

Notes

1) This program is delivered free of charge for NVGate V12.00 and later. Support is not automatically provided on this tool.
